From Kelaart to Vaas, from Raffel to Mathews, and from Dornhorst to Mathivanan and Ranatunga.

This is a modern history of the Colombo Colts Cricket Club which builds upon a draft of 2015, which in turn was a consolidation of S.P. Foenander’s book on the club which came out in 1941. Although a comprehensive effort it is open to feedback and contributions from stakeholders in the interest of accuracy and the filling of information gaps.
This is a biography of a cricket club in Sri Lanka which came into existence in 1873 in colonial Ceylon. It is as much a story of cricket in Sri Lanka and social change, as a delineation of the vicissitudes of one of the country’s oldest cricket clubs.
This history is a freelance effort by a historian with connections to the club although resident overseas since 1973. He has in no way sought or received support from the Colombo Colts Cricket Club, since 2016. Although he spoke to some club members in 2016 the club never threw its resources and inside knowledge behind his effort. He has not received any financial benefit from his work.
